Pots 'n' Pedals Festival

 

Main Street Sterling's Annual Pots 'n' Pedals Festival is set for May 10 this year. 

 
Included in this year's festival are the Pedal to the Metal Car Show, city-wide garage sale, pedal-tractor pull for kids, Benton's Greenhouse flower sales, a historic walking tour, Rotary auction, and various other booths and activities. 
 
We are beginning to take registrations for the car show and garage sales. 
 
The Pedal to the Metal Car Show will be held at the Northwest corner of Sterling Lake, beginning at 9:00 am.  The registration fee is $15 and can be sent, along with your name, address, description of car, and any special needs to Main Street Sterling. The first 50 entries will receive dash plaques. 
 

The city-wide garage sale will begin at 8:00 am.  Interested community members should send $5, along with your name. address, and a description of items to Main Street Sterling.

 

Registrations received by May 1st will be included on the garage sale locator map; late registrations will not be listed.

 

 

Old Fashioned Fourth of July

 

The Sterling Chamber of Commerce is working hard on plans for the 4th of July Celebration. The Festivities will begin Thursday July 3rd with the Ice Cream Social and the Sterling Idol Contest. New this year will also be a Junior Idol Contest.

 

Most of the traditional activities will be held on Friday, July 4th. The first events in the morning will be the 20 mile bike ride and 5K and 15K runs, along with the 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Other events held on the fourth include: Silver sandpile, sack races, turtle races, parade (2:00 pm), medallion hunt, community BBQ, baby contest, and fireworks.

 

The Events will wrap up on Saturday with the fishing derby (kids and adults), 4 on 4 volleyball, bingo and "Mo Money/No Money".
